YRD Open Day #2 – Power Unleashed 

Welcome to our second Open Day of the year!

We are recruiting new members to continue developing our Men’s Crew with a vision to qualify for the 2026 Club Crew World Championships (CCWC) in Hualien, Taiwan. If you enjoy competing and keeping fit, come down on the 7th of October and give dragon boating a crack.

Anyone is welcome to come along to this Open Day (even if you don’t identify as a male), come along and have some fun on the water.

What’s Mens/Opens Crew/Category?

The Men’s (open’s) category in dragon boating is open gender (sometimes age) and is the strongest and most competitive crew a club/team can present. Some of the best racing is in the Opens race which makes it the most challenging category to compete in.

Anyone is welcome to come along to this Open Day (even if you don’t identify as a male), come along and have some fun on the water.

Do I have to fit enough to come and try?

We welcome anyone with any fitness level to come to the Open Day and learn about the sport. Our coaching team will improve your skills and support you through the journey.

Do I have to bring anything to the Open Day?

We would recommend you wear and bring:

• Sports gear and shoes that can get wet
• A change of clothes
• Towel
• Water bottle
• Sunscreen, sunglasses and a sports cap or beanie (be sun smart )

We will provide you:

• Paddle, and
• PFD (Personal Floatation Device)
