Over 3,000 dragon boat racers will take to the water as spectators gather at Cockle Bay Wharf to watch the thrilling dragon boat races. The largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, this exciting regatta will return to Darling Harbour on January 28th and 29th, 2023.
Dragon boat racing, which originated in Southern China as a way to encourage bountiful rains, has evolved into a fast-paced sport with a dedicated following. Join us and experience the adrenaline rush as you watch the fierce dragons race to the beat of the on-board drummers.
As a team, we’re likely to participate in the mixed and open 20s crew. The plan is to fly up on Friday night, race all day on Saturday, have a team dinner/drinks Saturday night and fly back to Melbourne on Sunday.
